ojko Kilar has been doing research in the earthquake engineering field since 1988. He has worked particularly on computer programs for linear and non-linear response of concrete structures subjected to earthquake ground motion. During the studies for his Ph’D he was studying as one year at Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University in New York as a Fulbright grantee. Recently he has been mostly active in the seismic analysis and design of high-rise buildings. Presently he is researching the influence of asymmetry on seismic response of buildings within the IKPIR research group in Slovenia. In last few years he has been also active in several other research topics such as using of micro-reinforced concrete in earthquake resistant design and using of IT technologies for improving the collaboration between architect and constructor in the process of design of building structures.
