Regulation handling is an important part of
a concurrent engineering environment. The approach taken within ESPRIT-ToCEE
project is novel in two ways: (1) In the numerous computerization efforts to
date, the regulations were considered to be sources of knowledge and
information. The researches have been trying to encode this knowledge into
computer programs. We claim that knowledge can only be achieved with the correct
interpretation of the regulations that cannot be achieved by a computer. We are
therefore focusing on a joint-cognitive environment that assists in human
interpretation of the codes. (2) We do not believe in a single best
representation of the regulations but suggest a framework where different
representation can be abstracted as components and accessed through a central
regulation broker. In the paper the arguments supporting the above claims are
given. The ToCEE regulation-processing framework is described. It is based on
multiple regulation agents, brokers and servers that provide various regulation
related services which include the delivery of passive hypertext and of active
components that contain some of the logic embedded in the regulations
Predstavljeno je upravljanje s standardi in predpisi kot del okolja za
celovito, sočasno projektiranje. V pristopu sta dve novosti:(1) na predpise
negledamo kot na vir znanja - znanje se ustyvari šele ob interpretaciji, in (2)
ne obstaja ena sama in najboljša rešitev za predstavitev predpisov [COBISS.SI-ID
