V prispevku je
obravnavan vpliv konstrukcije in uporabe novih konstrukcijskih materialov na
razvoj arhitekture visokih stavb v obdobju od konca 18. do začetka 20. stoletja.
Clanek v historičnem zaporedju obravnava nekatere tako s stališča konstrukcije,
kot s stališča arhitekture, zanimive konstrukcije in stavbe ter spremlja in
analizira medsebojno odvisnost konstrukcije in arhitekture v tem obdobju. Clanek
posebej izpostavlja kako je nekaterim arhitektom in konstruktorjem v 19.
stoletju z inovativnim pristopom in s principi konstrukcijske logike - ki je po
mnenju avtorjev eden od ključnih pogojev za kvalitetno arhitekturo - uspelo
določiti samo arhitekturo.
The paper studies the influence of building
structural system and the usage of the new materials to the developments in the
architecture of high-rise buildings in the period from the end of 18th to the
start of 20th. The paper in chronological order analyses the selected building
examples that were important from the structural or architectural point of view
in that period. Aspecial importance is given to the examples where some
architects or constructors from 19th century were able to determine the
architecture based just on the principles of structural logics - which is by
opinion of authors one of the crucial conditions for high quality architecture.
