Coordinated by the CSTB, France, this cluster project's goal was to enhance the coordination of research and developments in IST projects targeting the construction sector, the promotion of the selected projects results, and a concerted support for the future implementation and deployment of new technologies in the industrial context. We were leading the workpackage on ICT Infrastructures for construction projects. We analyzed the current and future themes of research and the barriers to rather weak adoption of research results by the industry. An interesting finding: according to survey data among the cluster participants, over 40% of the effort in the member projects was related to management, paperwork and editing of deliverables with limited distribution. Among the projects results is also a book "Building, a Better Future: Constructed by People with ICT". Available with other project results at icci.vtt.fi. |
