Summary: The N2 method for simplified nonlinear analysis of buildings has been recentlyextended to allow the analysis of asymmetric structures. The method is briefly described and its application is demonstrated by several examples of multi-storey buildings. The results are compared with results of inelastic dynamic analyses. It is demonstrated that the proposed method is a viable approach which may yield for torsionally stiff buildings acceptable estimates of seismic demand [COBISS.SI-ID 1661281]
