Summary: In this work we present our latest developments on handling constrained finite rotations that are of direct use in nonlinear static and dynamic finite element analysis of shell structures. Relationships between different possibilities to parametrize the constrained finite rotations are first established, followed by a presentation of a choice in terms of the incremental rotation vector for shells. An appropriate consideration is also given to constructing the corresponding implicit time stepping schemes for nonlinear dynamics of shells [COBISS.SI-ID 1007457]
